Sometimes not knowing where to start is actually a start. You are thinking about it which is good, this is step 1.
- Maybe you’ve just turned 60 and retirement doesn’t look too far away.
- You want to start planning to give yourself the best possible outcome when retirement arrives.
- You know you need to be doing something, but don’t know where to start.
As a financial planner who specialises in retirement planning and transition to retirement planning, this is where I can help you “start”.
There might be a few “what if” scenarios that we can refine as time goes on until you are ready reduce work hours, fully stop work or just change jobs/careers for your next part of your life. I will work with you to determine if you actually have saved “enough” to live a comfortable retirement but first we need to work out what a comfortable retirement looks like to “YOU” and then we can work out what “enough” is.
Even though all my clients I work with are usually in there late 50’s or 60’s - everyone’s situation is different and what they consider to be “enough” is always different - my advice will help you reach your individual target.
I will start by helping you plan:
- A way to start reducing your debt if you have any outstanding and building wealth in a tax effective manner.
- Maybe it might be reducing a day or two work to “test” the waters but you still would like to keep the income you get the same.
- Or it could be you would like to do some home renovations / purchasing a car for retirement to help set things up so when you do retire you are already setup. I help to map out all of your objectives then start to cross them off one by one to make sure you are still building wealth, doing the things you want to do and knowing where you will end up and “when” you can retire that is individual to you and your needs.
